Beginning Friday, March 4 at 6 a.m., seasonal weight, and speed restrictions will be enforced.

The goal of these restrictions is to protect the integrity of the road when frost is coming out of the ground. As frost melts beneath a paved road, water is trapped between the pavement and the remaining ice layer beneath. This compromises the strength of the road and the weight it can sustain. When trucks and heavy equipment travel over a layer of concrete or asphalt that is not adequately supported beneath its surface, the road can incur significant damage.
